STUDIO DVANÁCT / STUDIO TWELVE
twelve contemporary female artists
on the occasion of the exhibition
Ženy, mistryně, umělkyně 1300-1900 / Woman Artists 1300-1900
Národní galerie Praha / National Gallery Prague 30.05. - 2.11.2025
A studio designed for all age groups to come interact, play or study.
The portraits of twelve contemporary artists show them as women who are socially equal and artistically confident in their creative work. They were invited to the project as representatives of their respective fields within the arts, but their creative scope is much broader, often transcending conventional art labels. Míla Preslová, whose portraits show the other artists in their everyday surroundings, is the only one displaying her work. Each woman shares a motto pertaining to their artistic life and answers the same two questions: Do you experience any gender-based limitations? And Are you able to make a living as an artist?
Further information about the artists is available via QR code links and n our printed materials.
With the artists´ kind permission we show not just their faces, but also the richness and diversity of their artistic expression and perspectives.
The project features Bára Anna, Lenka Falušiová, Birgitt Fischer, Petra Gupta Valentová, Monika Immrová, Karolína Jelínková, Marie Ladrová, Eliška Perglerová, Klára Pernicová, Míla Preslová, Zuzana Růžičková and Petra Vitásková.
